What if you don’t want a sweet breakfast this Easter?

Easter often means: egg hunts, chocolate treats, and a table full of sweet delights. But what if you’re in the mood for a brunch with punch—cheese, herbs, and crispy toast? A brunch doesn’t have to be sweet by default. In fact... savoury dishes keep you full longer, offer more variety in texture and taste, and are perfect if you prefer eating later in the day. Bonus! Savoury is also perfect to combine with your brunch appliances—likely already at home. 😉

Christmas and New Year

Five savoury brunch ideas:

  1. Croque with a twist
Classic? Yes. Boring? Definitely not. Think of a croque madame with truffle cheese and a fried egg on top. Or a croque with goat cheese, apple, and honey mustard sauce.
  2. Mini quiches from the air fryer
No oven needed! Fill puff pastry cups with spinach, feta, bacon, or salmon. You can prep them in advance and bake just before serving.
  3. Shakshuka in the slow cooker
Tomato sauce, paprika, herbs, eggs... all slowly simmered. Set the slow cooker on the table and let everyone scoop their own.
  4. Mini cheese fondue
No Swiss dinner, but a festive Easter brunch: serve mini portions of cheese fondue with veggie sticks, bread cubes, or even small potatoes.
  5. Savoury waffles (yes!!) With grated cheese, bacon, zucchini or even salmon and dill in the waffle batter. Serve with sour cream or pesto.

A brunch is not only about flavour, but also about atmosphere. Lay everything out on wooden boards, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve in small portions. It feels festive—even without all the chocolate eggs!

And a savoury Easter brunch gives you more room to vary, use up leftovers, or surprise guests. Best of all? No need to spend all morning in the kitchen... your appliances will do most of the work for you.
