Cook well and save money!

Cook well and save money? It's possible with these FRITEL tips!

FRITEL is all set to inspire you in 2023. And not only in the culinary field, because the current economic situation is forcing us to save. So we turn the thermostat down a degree, visit restaurants less often, let ourselves be persuaded by offers and promotions. Therefore, in this first letter of 2023, we are happy to provide smart solutions to meet this.

Fortunately, we can make it cosy at home, be conscious of our budget and still put delicious meals on the table. Meals that are not only cheap in terms of ingredients or with an eye for zero waste, but also with an eye on energy efficiency.

Save time and energy thanks to modern electrical kitchen appliances.

I have pots and pans, an oven and a cooker. Do I still need another electric kitchen appliance? The answer is: "Absolutely, because it saves you time and precious energy". Take, for example, a Soup Maker, a Pasta & Rice Cooker or an Airfryer. You put the ingredients in, and the appliance does the rest in a fraction of the time. Meanwhile, you empty your dishwasher, set the table or help your little sprout with homework. What's more, an Airfryer replaces 3 pots on the cooker -  speaking of saving energy. Tests showed that the SnackTastic, Soup Maker, Dehydrator ánd the Slow Cooker had significant energy savings compared to traditional cooking. Ease of use and maintenance are also added benefits.

Tested and proven

No doubt you already asked yourself certain questions to reduce your energy consumption.

"Should I do the dishes by hand or in the dishwasher?"
"Should I work better from home or in the office?"
"Which is more economical, a bath or a shower?"

And...

"Do I cook on the hob or with a kitchen appliance?"

In response to this last question, our in-house R&D department conducted some tests with the SnackTastic airfryer, Soup Maker, Dehydrator and Slow Cooker. And the results were amazing!

  • When baking a lemon cake, the SnackTastic 5804 consumes 378 Wh less than a traditional oven, moreover, it was also ready 5 min faster. A Greek chicken meal was ready 15 min faster in the SnackTastic and the energy consumption was 380 Wh less. So you can say than the SnackTastic uses 35% less energy than a traditional oven.
  • When drying slices of apple , the Dehydrator DH 2025 delivered energy savings of 50%, compared to a traditional oven.
  • Cooking stews in a FRITEL Slow Cooker is 50% more energy-efficient than on an induction hob or oven.
  • The Soup Maker SB3190 saves 40% energy compared to cooking soup on the hob.
  • The egg cooker EC 2025 uses 62% less energy and is ready 2 minutes and 40 seconds faster

In any case, we don't need more proof to be completely convinced! Or do we? After all, we will subject all our appliances to these energy consumption tests in 2023.

Don't throw anything away!

Certain kitchen appliances are ideal for turning leftovers into delicious meals. So don't throw anything away any more. Turn all your leftovers into delicious soups in the Soup Maker; and yes, that last piece of cheese can go with that too. In the Slow Cooker, turn surplus vegetables, meat, etc. into a creamy stew in which all the various flavours melt together wonderfully. In the SnackTastic airfryer, you can transform leftover vegetables, pasta, rice or chips and eggs into a tasty fritatta, or leftover bread into crunchy croutons for in soup. The possibilities are endless and you will save a considerable sum of money turning leftovers in your fridge, pantry or freezer into fully-fledged meals.
