Traditional Belgian vanilla waffles (WA 2224)

  • 250 gm self-rising flour (sieved)
  • 250 gm melted butter
  • 250 gm fine sugar
  • 3 packets vanilla sugar
  • 6 eggs,
  • 200 ml milk
  • pinch of salt


Preparation time: 15 min.
  1. Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites.
  2. Whisk together the egg yolks, sugar and vanilla sugar. Add the melted butter and a pinch of salt and continue whisking.,
  3. Add the flour and slowly whisk until smooth and thoroughly combined.,
  4. Make the batter more liquid by adding the milk.
  5. Whisk the egg white in a separate clean bowl until stiff and carefully fold it into the batter mixture.
