Plastic smell during first use - what can I do about it?
When using your SnackTastic for the first time, you may notice a slightly chemical or plastic-like smell. This is a common and harmless occurrence with new appliances.
Cause:
- During production, parts such as the heating element or non-stick coating are provided with protective coatings.
- When first heated, these coatings may emit slight fumes.
- Heat-resistant plastic parts may also temporarily release some odour.
Solution:
- Before first use, run the appliance empty at 200°C for 10–15 minutes.
- Optionally, place a small bowl with water and lemon juice or vinegar in the basket.
- Ensure proper ventilation in the room.
The smell usually disappears after a few uses.
Important:
If the smell persists, check whether:
- the appliance is completely clean,
- no packaging material has been left behind,
- the smell is not coming from baking paper or food.
How do I personalise the functions of my air fryer?
Your FRITEL air fryer is equipped with personalised functions that allow you to save your favourite settings for each programme. This means you don't have to set the time and temperature again each time you cook.
Follow these steps to personalise a programme:
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Select the desired programme (e.g. chips, chicken, fish, etc.).
3. Set the desired temperature and cooking time.
4. Hold down the selected programme for 5 seconds.
You will hear a beep when the settings have been successfully saved. From now on, the appliance will remember your preferences for that specific programme until you change them again.
I have identical ingredients in both baskets. How can I transfer the settings from one basket to the other?
Use the Sync Basket function!
The latest FRITEL Duo Airfryers feature a handy Sync Basket button.
This function copies the settings from basket 1 to basket 2, or vice versa, which is ideal when you want to prepare the same ingredients in the same way in both baskets.
This means you only have to set the time and temperature once, and both baskets will automatically start with the same settings.
Simply press the Sync Basket button after setting the first basket, and the appliance will neatly transfer everything to the second one. Convenient and time-saving!

Ideal when, for example, you have chips in one basket and chicken wings in the other, but still want to serve everything at the same time.
Simply press the Sync Finish button after setting both programmes, and the air fryer will do the rest!
What does the ‘Shake’ signal I hear on my appliance mean?
The shake signal is a feature of the latest generation of FRITEL air fryers. Halfway through the set cooking time, the appliance emits a beep. This is a reminder to shake or stir the ingredients. This ensures that they cook evenly and become nice and crispy.
Don't worry: the appliance does not stop cooking and it is not an error message, it is purely a helpful signal for optimal results.
How do I clean my SnackTastic air fryer correctly and safely?
Proper cleaning after each use will extend the life of your air fryer and ensure the best cooking results. Follow these simple steps:
- Clean the appliance after each use.
This will prevent stubborn residues and unpleasant odours. - Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely.
TIP: To speed up the cooling process, you can remove the tray from the appliance. - Do not use metal objects or aggressive cleaning agents.
The basket and rack have a non-stick coating.
Protect these by using only soft materials. - Clean the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth.
Do not use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners. - The basket and rack can be cleaned in warm soapy water with a soft brush.

One surely can. If you open the drawer the appliance stops immediately. So you can easily open the drawer for a while and look what stage your dish is at.

Preheating is not necessary but the appliance does need time to reach the desired temperature for the baking process to start. Without preheating the preparation usually takes a little longer than prescribed on the packaging.
Is it necessary to use special oven fries or oven snacks?
You get the best result if you use oven snacks or oven fries. These are maid especially for preparations with hot air and get a nice crispy colour. Using normal frozen snacks and putting them in the SnackTastic they do get cooked but they keep looking pale. You could at hand spray the snacks with an oven atomiser. Then you get a better result. But the best are the oven snacks or oven fries.
What parts of the SnackTastic are dishwasher proof?
The drawer and the basket are dishwasher proof. Beware if damages arise at the drawer or basket because of use (wear and tear). These are not covered by warranty but constitute wear. The drawer and basket can be reordered anytime.
There`s an bad smell in my SnackTastic. How do I remedy this?
Put a sheet of aluminium foil in the appliance and pour some water over it. Next slice a lemon in layers and put this on the aluminium foil. Set the temperature at 180°C and put the timer on 10 minutes. The stayed behind grease that causes the smell gets liquefied and caught up in the aluminium foil.
