The EK 3180 comes with two knife sets:

  • A finely serrated universal knife for general use.
  • A coarsely serrated knife for cutting frozen food.

First join both knife halves together. Then insert the knives into the appliance using the safety grip until they click into place. Always check that they are securely attached by gently pulling them. Only plug in the appliance afterwards.

The EK 3180 features a Dual Safety system. You must first press the safety button underneath the handle and then the power button. Pressing only the power button will not start the appliance.

Yes. Only use the coarsely serrated knife for this purpose. It is specifically designed for cutting frozen foods.

Do not use a sawing motion. Let the knife do the work and glide through the food. For cooked meat, wait about 5 minutes so the juices can redistribute.

Always use a wooden or plastic cutting board. Never use the electric knife on metal, stainless steel, marble or granite surfaces.

No. Never attempt to sharpen the knives yourself. This may damage the knives and affect their performance.
