Deliciously Spooky Halloween with FRITEL

Halloween is just around the corner! It’s the time of year when we turn our homes into haunted houses, dress up as our favorite monsters and, of course, enjoy deliciously spooky treats. Whether you’re hosting a big party or just planning a cozy family night, Halloween is the perfect opportunity to get creative in the kitchen. With FRITEL appliances, you can quickly and easily prepare the tastiest snacks, but you can also impress with culinary masterpieces perfectly suited to the Halloween atmosphere. So put on your witch’s hat and get inspired!

Spooky Comfort Food 

Halloween means suspense and thrills, but also comfort. Think crispy snacks, hot soups, and sweet treats that make your heart race. The versatility of FRITEL appliances lets you prepare a wide variety of dishes. From savory snacks to sweet treats, anything is possible with a touch of creativity and the right tools.

1. Halloween Puff Pastry Mummies 

A timeless classic that always pleases kids and adults alike: puff pastry mummies! These delicious bites are super easy to make with the FRITEL Snacktastic®.

Ingredients:

  • Sausages (or Zwan sausages)
  • 1 egg
  • Puff pastry
  • Ketchup + mayonnaise (squeeze bottle)
  • Mustard

Preparation: 

  • Unroll the puff pastry, cut upright rectangles about 10 cm wide, then cut horizontal strips.
  • Place a sausage on top and wrap the pastry strips one by one around the sausage. Leave an opening at the top for the eyes.
  • Brush the pastry with egg yolk.
  • Cook in the SnackTastic® for 6-8 minutes at 165°C.
  • Make the eyes with mayonnaise and ketchup. 
  • Serve with ketchup and mustard as dipping sauces.

2. Stuffed 'Jack-o'-Lantern' Peppers 

These cheerful and tasty Jack-o'-Lantern peppers are a great way to brighten up your Halloween meal. Make them quickly in our Snacktastic®

Ingredients (for 4 people):

  • 4 orange bell peppers (medium)
  • 250 g ground beef
  • 1 cup (200 g) uncooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small can tomato paste (70 g)
  • 1 can (400 g) diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional, for extra kick)
  • 100 g grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley or coriander) for garnish

Preparation: 

Cook the rice:

  • Cook the rice according to package instructions. Set aside.

Prep the peppers:

  • Cut the tops off the peppers and remove the seeds and white membranes. Set the peppers aside.

Make the filling:

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until well browned, breaking up the meat as it cooks.
  • Add tomato paste, diced tomatoes, cumin, paprika, chili powder (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until well combined and the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Stir the cooked rice into the meat mixture and mix well.

Stuff the peppers:

  • Stuff the peppers with the meat and rice mixture. Press lightly to fill them well.
  • Sprinkle the stuffed peppers with grated cheese.

Cook the peppers in the SnackTastic®:

  • Carefully place the stuffed peppers in the SnackTastic® basket. Make sure they are upright and spaced for even cooking.
  • Set the SnackTastic® to 190°C and cook the peppers for 15-20 minutes, until they are tender and the cheese is golden and melted. Check occasionally to prevent over-browning.

Garnish and serve:

  • Remove the peppers from the SnackTastic® and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs for an extra touch.

3. Halloween Monster Burgers

These cute and creepy Halloween monster burgers are always a hit at any Halloween party. Use the FRITEL Grill to make perfect burgers and get creative with the decoration.

Ingredients (for 4 people):

  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 hamburger patties (about 150 g each, or 600 g in total)
  • 4 slices of cheese (preferably cheddar)
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 8 pickles
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 8 olives (sliced)
  • Ketchup (for a bloody effect)

Preparation: 

  • Grill the hamburger patties on the Grill until thoroughly cooked. 
  • Place the burgers on a bun and use a slice of cheese to create teeth. 
  • Decorate the burgers with lettuce, tomato, and pickles to create monster faces, and use olives on toothpicks for the eyes. 
  • Serve with ketchup for an even spookier effect.
