Why make your own ice cream?

In summer, there’s nothing as refreshing as a delicious, homemade ice cream. But why choose homemade over store-bought? Here are some benefits and helpful tips that make DIY ice cream not only fun but truly worth it.

Cooking

You decide how (un)healthy it is!
Homemade ice cream means full control over the ingredients. No artificial colors or preservatives… only the purest and tastiest flavors. For cherry sorbet, for example, use fresh cherries, Belgian sugar, lemon juice and water. By deciding how much sugar to add, you can tailor the ice cream to your taste—sweeter or lighter.

Tip: Use organic or locally grown fruits for an even healthier choice!

One of the best parts of making your own ice cream is the freedom to create flavors you won’t find anywhere else. How many cherries do you add? How much sugar? Want an extra lemony twist for freshness? You’re the chef!

Tip: Experiment with different fruits to create unique sorbets. Blueberries, mangoes or raspberries can all give a delicious spin!

Allergic to ice cream?
Allergic to milk, nuts or soy? Yes, it happens, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy ice cream… Making it yourself is the perfect solution. You are in charge of what goes in. No surprises—only ingredients you love (and won’t send you to the ER).

Tip: Have a milk, nut or soy allergy? Use alternatives like almond milk, coconut milk or rice milk for a creamy base.

Copycat or even better?
