Place the self-raising flour in a bowl and add the butter in small cubes. Rub the butter into the flour with your fingertips until the mixture becomes crumbly. Mix in the sugar and salt.
Pour in the milk and use a fork or knife to combine everything into a rough, sticky dough. Knead it briefly by hand until it forms a smooth dough.
Roll or press the dough to a thickness of about 3 cm. Use a round cutter with a 5 cm diameter to cut out scones.
Gather the remaining dough, roll it out again, and cut out as many scones as possible. Repeat until all the dough is used.
Place the scones in the airfryer basket and lightly brush the tops with a little milk.
Bake in the airfryer at 180°C for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
