Savory waffle filled with asparagus, prepared in the Flemish way

Ingredients

  • 4 peeled asparagus
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tbsp parsley 
  • Nutmeg 
  • Pepper and salt
  • 8 slices of puff pastry

Preparation

  • Cut the asparagus into fine slices. 
  • Beat the eggs and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. 
  • Add the finely sliced asparagus and finely chopped parsley to the egg mixture. 
  • Meanwhile, heat the WaffleTastic® with the filled waffle baking tray
  • Place a slice of puff pastry in the lower baking tray
  • Fill the puff pastry with 2 spoonfuls of the filling and place a second slice of puff pastry on top. 
  • Bake the waffles until golden brown in 5 minutes.
  • Turn the waffle iron after 2.5 minutes for even results.
  • Serve the waffles warm.

Tips

Tip: Experiment with different fillings to taste such as apple sauce and black pudding or feta cheese with olives and tomatoes or salmon with mustard, videe filling,.... Or other creative combinations
