Dried Apple Snack

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 apples (preferably firm, sweet varieties such as Jonagold, Fuji, or Gala)
  • Optional: cinnamon powder or a little lemon juice

Further needed

Dehydrator DH 2025

Preparation

Wash and peel the apples (you can also leave the peel on if you prefer).

Remove the core with an apple corer.

Slice into thin rings of about 3–5 mm. The thinner, the crispier the result.

To prevent browning, briefly sprinkle the slices with lemon juice.

Place the apple slices in a single layer on the trays of the dehydrator. Make sure they don’t overlap so that air can circulate well.

Set the temperature to 55–60°C.

Dry the apples for 6–8 hours, depending on the thickness and desired texture:

  • 6 hours → still chewy
  • 8 hours or more → extra dry and crunchy

Let the apples cool completely on the trays.

Store in an airtight jar or container. This way, they stay crunchy and tasty for weeks.

Tips

Sprinkle the slices with a little cinnamon before drying for an extra autumn flavor.
