Savory waffle with feta

Ingredients

  • 200 g flour

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • ⅛ tsp salt

  • a few twists of black pepper

  • 2 eggs

  • 275 ml buttermilk

  • 40 g butter, melted

  • 2-3 spring onions, green parts only

  • 200 g feta, crumbled

  • 1 tbsp za’atar

Also needed

Preparation

  • Put the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix together.

  • Add the eggs and buttermilk and briefly whisk everything into a smooth batter.

  • Add the melted butter and stir it into the batter.

  • Crumble the feta into small pieces and slice the spring onion into thin rings.

  • Mix the feta, spring onion, and za’atar spices into the waffle batter.

  • When baking, 1 tablespoon is enough for a small waffle.

Tips

Tip: serve with olives!
